The Westie Magazine was a conceptual piece that I developed as one of my last projects in my bachelor's degree at RMIT.
The idea was to develop an A3 magazine that was printed on cheap stock, hence the choice of printing on Kraft paper. The publication also lacked any sort of binding, resulting in loose sheets and keeping production costs down.
"Westie Magazine" and its content came about from my personal pride as a Westie — a resident of the western suburbs of Melbourne. The magazine was envisioned to contain articles and features sourced from the local community in focus. For my project I decided to focus on the suburb of Footscray due to its prominent position as a sort of gateway to the western suburbs.
